[Nikola makes sure he's constantly in the loop. Most information given to him is useless, but there are times when it comes in quite handy. Like the latest piece about an abnormal discovered in foothills of the Canadian Rockies. The abnormal is rumored to have DNA similar to that of a vampire. It only takes minutes for Nikola to book his flight to Vancouver.
As he packs, he knows there's a chance he might run into her and her team of unruly misfits. It's been a little over two years since he left the Sanctuary. He went to London, then traveled the rest of Europe before finding himself in the States again. Nikola found a quiet place in the middle of nowhere and sat up shop. He's all but forgotten about her.
Well, almost.
Nikola knows he'll never fall out of love with Helen. There's too much history to let it to. And, there's the fact they have eternity and maybe in a hundred years she'll finally be over John. He knows the odds are against him, but he'll continue to hope. Plus, he misses her more than he'll admit.
He lands in Vancouver and starts his trek northward. Nikola will have to hike to where the abnormal was last seen. It's not now he normally does things, but he has no other choice. So with a small pack of supplies, including a GPS he made, he sets off on foot in the dense woods. He walks for almost a hour when he picks up her scent and he knew she's close. Nikola doesn't move, smirking only a bit when she's close enough to hear him.]
